Merchandise Associate – Remote (US Hours)

About the role

Short Story is an award‑winning retailer focused on petite women. They are seeking a detail‑oriented Merchandise Associate to maintain product data and support the merchandising team remotely during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Merchandise Team to keep the product catalog up‑to‑date, including descriptions, images, and details.
• Enter product information, pricing, and attributes accurately into the database system.
• Conduct regular quality checks on product data to ensure consistency and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain clear communication with the San Francisco merchandise team, providing status updates and flagging issues.
• Provide ad‑hoc support such as research, special projects, and administrative tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Clothing Technology, Apparel Engineering, or Fashion Merchandising.
• 2–6+ years experience in a structured apparel operation (buying, merchandise planning, or brand management).
• Fluent English with exceptional writing skills.
• At least 2 years of data‑entry experience in English.
• Extreme attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Comfort with calculations, data analysis, and tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Flexible, able to wear many hats in a fast‑moving startup environment.
