Medical Billing Specialist – AR & Charge Entry

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Billing Specialist focused on accounts receivable and charge entry. The role supports a large physician‑owned organization delivering community‑based healthcare in California, working remotely on a full‑time schedule aligned with Manila time.

Key responsibilities

• Work all aging claims from Work Ques or Aging reports.
• Perform day‑to‑day billing and follow‑up activities within revenue operations.
• Present trends or issues to the supervisor and collaborate on improvements.
• Resolve denials or correspondences from patients and insurance carriers.
• Assist with patient calls and questions.
• Follow team and company policies and meet productivity standards.
• Write clear and concise appeal letters.
• Adhere to BASS company policies, procedures, workflow, productivity and attendance requirements.
• Complete a 6‑month probationary period and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience in AR and charge entry, preferably in oncology and infusion services.
• Experience with EPIC software and strong understanding of EOBs, copays, deductibles, and various insurance plans including Medicare, Medi‑Cal, and secondary insurers.
• Knowledge of modifiers, diagnosis and CPT codes and payer policies.
• Excellent phone and written communication skills with providers, carriers, patients and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic typing speed of 40+ wpm.
• Positive attitude, great attendance and punctuality.
