Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant machinery through preventive and corrective maintenance. Working on‑site at our Toledo City facility, you will support the Maintenance department in keeping equipment running smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, recommending repairs or replacements.
• Conduct periodic inspections to detect leaks, abnormal vibrations, and other issues.
• Lubricate and grease machinery to prevent breakdowns.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Monitor and manage spare parts, tools, and supplies, including encoding items in the Maximo system.
• Fabricate spare parts and components through machining as needed.
• Document maintenance activities, update work orders in Maximo, and submit reports to the supervisor.
• Follow safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
• Willingness to work on‑site and participate in planned outages.

Required skills

• Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS platforms.
• Machining and basic fabrication skills.
• Preventive maintenance techniques.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
