Mechanical Maintenance Specialist – Raw Materials Unloading

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist (RM) ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of raw‑materials unloading facilities and plant equipment. This role combines supervision of unloading processes with hands‑on maintenance to keep machinery running at optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise raw materials unloading operations to achieve maximum feed rate and meet time standards.
• Plan and execute repairs and preventive maintenance on unloading equipment, ensuring compliance with product specifications and standards.
• Troubleshoot unloading machinery to maintain proper operation during material handling.
• Coordinate vessel shifting and hatch‑transfer activities with vessel crews.
• Collaborate with Silomen and vessel crews to optimise unloading efficiency.
• Monitor critical spare‑parts inventory and ensure availability when needed.
• Analyse equipment condition and implement corrective actions for abnormalities.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on plant machinery as directed by the Maintenance Planner.
• Review and recommend cost‑effective maintenance programmes based on root‑cause analysis and condition monitoring.
• Establish and maintain monitoring plans for critical and non‑critical machines.
