Maintenance Mechanic II

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production and warehouse machinery at Cargill Animal Nutrition. Working under regular guidance, the mechanic ensures equipment reliability through preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive and reactive industrial maintenance across the facility.
• Utilize standard maintenance tools such as power tools, hand tools, electric and precision tools.
• Apply knowledge in one or two trades (e.g., electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps, piping, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
• Interpret electrical or mechanical schematics, blueprints and operation manuals with direction.
• Document work performed and conditions found using maintenance computer software.
• Operate forklifts and scissor lifts to transport equipment and parts.
• Collaborate with peers and management to drive continuous improvement of facility operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ability to follow guidance and work safely on equipment.
• Experience reading and applying schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong documentation habits using maintenance software.
• Willingness to work onsite in a manufacturing environment.
