Maintenance Engineer

About the role

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability of building facilities, utilities, and laboratory equipment. The role supports production operations by minimizing downtime and maintaining safe, efficient working conditions across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective, preventive, and improvement maintenance on production machines and plant facilities.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, including PLC and industrial control systems.
• Monitor equipment breakdowns, implement corrective actions, and report machine and utility conditions.
• Inspect alarm and fire protection systems and schedule necessary repairs.
• Fabricate jigs, tooling, and mechanical supports as required.
• Provide timely operational support to production and assist third‑party contractors.

Required profile

• High school graduate with a vocational diploma or 2–3 years of college education; a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering is a plus.
• Basic understanding of PLC, industrial controls, wiring, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Good physical condition, willingness to work overtime, holidays and moderate travel (≈50%).
• Fair proficiency in written and spoken English.
