Logistics Operations Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Operations Specialist supports global transportation and freight forwarding within a shared services environment. Acting as the main coordination point, the role ensures timely execution of air and ocean shipments for multinational customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate domestic and international shipments, selecting optimal transport modes and ensuring on‑time delivery.
• Book shipments, coordinate pickups and deliveries, monitor carrier capacity, and resolve service issues.
• Prepare, validate, and manage shipping and export documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export filing requirements (AES, ICS2), TSA standards, and hazardous cargo regulations.
• Monitor shipments from pickup to final delivery, provide proactive status updates, and maintain accurate records in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Serve as primary customer contact, handling inquiries, managing expectations, and maintaining high satisfaction.
• Identify and escalate shipment exceptions, develop recovery plans, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Validate freight costs, vendor invoices, customer billings, and gross profit for financial accuracy.
• Maintain shipment data, generate operational reports, and support KPI tracking and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Customs Administration, Transportation Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, transportation coordination, or supply‑chain/customer‑service operations.
• Experience supporting multinational or global customer accounts.
• Experience working in Shared Services or Global Business Services (GBS) environments.
