Logistics & Distribution Head (AVP)

About the role

The Logistics & Distribution Head (AVP) leads the organization’s end‑to‑end logistics, warehousing and distribution functions. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures goods move efficiently, are stored safely, and reach stores, hubs and customers on time while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee transportation planning, routing, fleet coordination and last‑mile delivery performance.
• Manage warehouse and distribution centre operations to guarantee smooth inventory flow and order fulfillment.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs and meet KPIs such as delivery turnaround time and fulfillment rate.
• Monitor compliance with safety policies, operational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with third‑party logistics providers, freight partners and warehouse operators.
• Collaborate with procurement, commercial, planning and operations teams to align logistics activities with business needs.
• Lead, mentor and develop the logistics team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Provide data‑driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Extensive experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation and distribution leadership roles.
• Background in retail, pharmaceutical, e‑commerce, 3PL or large‑scale distribution is highly preferred.
• Proven track record managing complex logistics networks and high‑volume distribution operations.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
