Legal Manager

About the role

The Legal Manager for the Support unit will oversee all legal affairs across multiple support functions, including Human Capital, Operations, Internal Audit, IT, and Finance. This role ensures that the organization complies with applicable laws and regulations while protecting the bank's interests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to support units to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Manage litigation and dispute resolution, representing the bank in court and coordinating with external counsel.
• Support administrative and labor relations matters, including disciplinary proceedings and special audits.
• Assist Fraud Risk Management and conduct internal investigations.
• Monitor and manage outsourced and internally handled cases, excluding specific loan-related matters.
• Supervise garnishment compliance and assess claims of deceased or incapacitated depositors.
• Fulfill duties of the Operational Risk Officer and Deputy Internal Compliance Officer for the legal sector.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law or Juris Doctor.
• At least 1 year of legal practice, preferably with litigation experience.
• Member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines or a Bar passer.
• Strong expertise in legal research, drafting, and writing.
• Experience in litigation, corporate secretariat, and administrative proceedings.
• Banking experience is preferred.
