Legal Counsel - Senior Associate

About the role

SGV, the largest professional services firm in the Philippines and a member firm of Ernst & Young, is hiring a Senior Associate Legal Counsel in its General Counsel's Office in Makati City. The office gives expert legal guidance and support to protect and advance the organization's interests, covering compliance, risk management, corporate governance and litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents, including commercial agreements and NDAs.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, advisories, memoranda and other legal documentation.
• Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and data privacy requirements.
• Assist in identifying, assessing and mitigating legal, regulatory and compliance risks.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders on legal, compliance, governance and risk matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
• About one year of experience in contract law, corporate law, compliance or a related legal field.
• Licensed attorney-at-law and member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
