Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment

About the role

The Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment will advise management on Philippine employment law, labor relations and workplace standards. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel and the Vice President, Legal Affairs, the role ensures compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies while supporting HR and management in employee‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employment‑related issues and monitor changes in labor legislation.
• Represent the company in negotiations with labor unions, collective bargaining, grievance handling and labor‑management cooperation.
• Review and draft employment contracts, HR policies, separation agreements, disciplinary notices and Code of Conduct documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel and represent the company before the Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Commission and other tribunals.
• Participate in fact‑finding conferences and administrative hearings for Code of Conduct violations.
• Execute management actions such as hiring, transfers, suspensions, layoffs, recalls and disciplinary measures.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice as a lawyer in the Philippines.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Graduate degree: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable law school.
