Legal Counsel – Asset Servicing (BGC, Philippines)

About the role

Altus Capital Partners is seeking a high‑caliber Legal Counsel to join its in‑house Legal & Compliance team at the BGC office in Taguig. The role will serve as the legal backbone for the Philippines Asset Servicing division, overseeing portfolios that include Non‑Performing Loans (NPL) and Real Estate Owned (REO) assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal strategies for the Special Asset Management team, ensuring robust protection and recovery of NPL and REO portfolios.
• Oversee borrower relations and litigation, directing external counsel networks to maximize recovery efficiency.
• Provide legal advice to the Real Estate Development team on construction, zoning, and permitting matters for REO holdings.
• Collaborate with in‑house legal assistants and external partners to maintain full compliance with local regulatory requirements.
• Support the CEO, General Counsel, and Philippines legal team on regional matters on an ad‑hoc basis.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a valid Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) license.
• Minimum 5 years post‑bar experience, preferably in litigation, banking, or real‑estate law.
• Prior exposure to NPL/REO portfolio management is highly advantageous.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented problem‑solver with the ability to handle high‑stakes tasks discreetly.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Tagalog.
