Laborer for Road & Bridge Construction

About the role

We are looking for a reliable laborer to support road and bridge construction projects. The role involves physical work on highways and heavy‑construction sites, operating hand and power tools, preparing and cleaning job sites, and assisting skilled tradespeople.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a variety of manual tasks on heavy/highway construction projects.
• Shovel bituminous asphalt and wet concrete, and assist in concrete placement.
• Fine‑grade fill to foreman‑specified grades and patch asphalt with hot or cold mix.
• Excavate and fill trenches and ditches, set braces, and erect scaffolding.
• Load, unload, and haul materials; operate material‑handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, securing tools and equipment daily.
• Follow safety and incident‑reporting procedures and report issues to the foreman or safety personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience operating heavy equipment on highway or civil projects.
• Ability to pass controlled‑substance tests before and during employment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 75 lb, and work in outdoor conditions ranging from hot to frigid.
• Flexible schedule – typically Mon‑Fri 7 am‑6 pm with occasional weekend or night work.
