About the role
The Kitchen Steward ensures that all kitchen areas, equipment and food storage zones are kept clean and compliant with food safety standards. This role supports the culinary team by maintaining a hygienic environment and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Clean dishes, work stations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas according to food safety regulations.
- Wash, chop, shred, and grate ingredients for use by the chef.
- Sweep and mop floors as required.
- Assist with unloading deliveries and storing ingredients safely.
- Help monitor inventory levels.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager.
- Package customers' leftover food upon request.
- Clean trash cans and dispose of refuse regularly.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as needed.
