Java/Kotlin Engineer for Core Banking Platform

About the role

Salmon is seeking an experienced Java Engineer ready to transition to Kotlin to design, build, and scale the core banking and partner platforms that power its financial super‑app. You will work on high‑load, mission‑critical systems, own API design, and influence architectural decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve banking APIs for mobile apps and internal/external services.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using Kotlin, Ktor, jOOQ, coroutines, and Arrow.
• Maintain and improve public APIs, internal SDKs, and shared platform components.
• Implement high‑performance integrations with partners and third‑party systems.
• Contribute to the architecture, scalability, and reliability of core banking platforms.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the JVM ecosystem (Java/Kotlin).
• Deep understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems.
• Experience with clean architecture approaches such as DDD and event‑driven design.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably on AWS.
• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
