Java Backend Engineer – 7 to 10 Years Experience

About the role

The Java Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Java‑based applications that support the bank’s digital services. You will work closely with business analysts and the IT team to translate requirements into robust software solutions while adopting modern development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Translate user requirements from the business team into detailed Java software specifications.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Java‑based business applications.
• Build and enhance tools supporting infrastructure, operating systems, databases, cloud services, and networking components.
• Scale Java services through automation, improve reliability, and increase delivery velocity.
• Research, evaluate, and advocate emerging technologies to keep the IT landscape up‑to‑date.
• Promote a collaborative, continuous‑improvement culture while adhering to bank policies and professional standards.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of professional software development experience with a focus on Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Experience working in agile environments and with test‑driven development.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and debug production issues.
