IT Technical Support Assistant

About the role

The IT Technical Support Assistant provides timely and accurate technical assistance to end‑users, ensuring smooth operation of the organization’s technology environment. This role combines proactive maintenance, reactive troubleshooting, and user training to keep systems reliable and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and security issues for end‑users, both remotely and on‑site.
• Install software, configure systems, perform data backups and apply security patches.
• Escalate complex problems to senior IT staff and document solutions for knowledge sharing.
• Create user guides, deliver training sessions, and provide clear instructions on IT equipment usage.
• Identify potential infrastructure problems and implement preventive measures.
• Assist with rollout of new technologies, including testing, documentation, and user training.
• Interact with vendors to resolve issues related to third‑party hardware or software.
• Support IT projects by providing technical expertise and user feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT help‑desk support.
• Relevant IT certifications are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, Linux and mobile operating systems.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Fundamentals of networking, including protocols and configuration.
• Security patch management and data backup procedures.
