IT Support Intern – Hands‑On Technical Experience

About the role

The IT Support Intern will work closely with the IT team to provide basic technical assistance and maintain the organization’s computer systems and equipment. This role offers practical, hands‑on experience in troubleshooting, hardware and software setup, and IT asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose basic hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
• Set up user accounts, email accounts, system access, and permissions.
• Assist users with password resets and simple account‑access problems.
• Apply approved operating system updates, applications, antivirus software, and security patches under supervision.
• Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, local network, and internet connectivity problems.
• Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, inventory, repairs, and maintenance.
• Prepare and issue equipment to new employees and recover equipment during off‑boarding.
• Organise cables, equipment storage areas, and IT workstations.
• Support system backups, routine maintenance, upgrades, and other IT projects.
• Follow company policies on data protection, confidentiality, access control, and information security.
