IT Project Director – Lead Complex Mission‑Critical Projects

About the role

The IT Project Director is responsible for steering multiple high‑risk, mission‑critical projects that support key business initiatives. You will ensure that technical and business processes are aligned, cost‑effective, and delivered on schedule while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage several complex projects and cross‑functional teams simultaneously.
• Define roles, set performance objectives, coach staff, and evaluate performance.
• Coordinate work‑group plans to keep projects aligned with overall objectives.
• Raise and resolve project issues at appropriate levels and keep stakeholders informed.
• Collaborate with business users to assess feasibility, define requirements, and establish timelines.
• Provide expert design advice to ensure solutions meet management and business needs.
• Conduct project reviews to guarantee quality, adherence to standards, and compliance with MLPP regulations.
• Develop staff career plans and maintain up‑to‑date technical expertise.
• Contribute to Project Management standards and deliver training when needed.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and oversee communication with vendors and third‑party partners.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in application systems design, analysis, development, and maintenance.
• Experience with mainframe, midrange, and microcomputer environments.
• Exposure to banking operations.
• Proven experience with Agile methodologies and cloud‑based platforms.
