IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Infrastructure Engineer – Linux provides Level 1 and Level 2 support for enterprise and business operations, ensuring system uptime, availability, and effective delivery of IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, patch, install, configure, operate and maintain hardware, software and related infrastructure.
• Administer and maintain a Unix/Linux server environment comprising physical and virtual servers.
• Participate in R&D projects to drive infrastructure innovation.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain server‑based applications, including AD/LDAP services.
• Perform daily system monitoring, log review, backup verification and hardware integrity checks.
• Create, configure and deploy virtual machines and manage backup procedures.
• Lead Linux performance tuning, security hardening and patch management.
• Develop scripts and utilities for user access management and peripheral customization.
• Provide 1st and 2nd level escalation support and act as SME for standard deployments, mentoring team members.
• Maintain data‑center environmental monitoring equipment and collaborate with other IT groups.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Linux System Administrator.
• Experience installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.
• Strong knowledge of Linux workstation and server management.
• Understanding of security vulnerability remediation and hardening of Red Hat, Oracle Linux or similar systems.
• Proficiency in scripting and solid grasp of networking concepts and protocols.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix or SolarWinds.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS and Azure.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware/ESXi (6.x or higher) virtualization.
