Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a practical, mature Head of Finance to lead a tight, efficient finance function across our group of operating entities. The role will own the recurring finance cycle, act as one of three signatories on all outgoing payments, and partner closely with operations and technology teams to ensure financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Take one of three signatory seats on all outgoing payments alongside the co‑founders.
• Own the monthly close review across group entities – sign off on P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliations.
• Maintain the working budget and rolling forecast.
• Manage the relationship with the outsourced Philippine tax provider for monthly and quarterly BIR filings, Authority to Print, and service invoices.
• Manage the relationship with the Singapore bookkeeper for unaudited financial statements and tax return.
• Sponsor QuickBooks and Xero as the source of truth for accounting systems.
• Work with the technology team on data reconciliation across CRM, order‑management, and finance systems.
• Roll out the intercompany service‑invoice framework at each month‑end.
• Support the CEO on quarterly board reporting and attend bi‑weekly board alignment meetings.
• Manage and coach the finance team.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 6+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Deep Philippine tax literacy – BIR filings, VAT, WHT, Authority to Print, three‑way invoicing.
• Cross‑border finance experience – comfortable with a Singapore entity, USD invoicing, FX exposure.
• Willingness to act as a co‑signatory with founders and hold the line on process.
• Practical, mature, calm under pressure with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• CPA / ACA / ACCA qualification.
• Philippine BIR filing expertise (0619E, 2550Q, 1601EQ).
• VAT, WHT, Authority to Print, three‑way invoicing.
• USD invoicing and foreign‑exchange exposure.
• QuickBooks and Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets modelling.
• Use of AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT for research, drafting, spreadsheet formulas, and reconciliation tasks.
