Global Onboarding Specialist

About the role

The Global Onboarding Specialist supports the onboarding of crew members occupying Management, Specialty and Marine positions for Royal Caribbean Group’s global fleet. The role is part of the Crew Readiness Team and focuses on delivering a seamless, compliant onboarding experience while meeting operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, customer‑focused service to crew members in Management, Specialty and Marine categories.
• Ensure each crew member receives appropriate support and guidance throughout the onboarding journey.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, local, international and company policies to safeguard crew safety and well‑being.
• Liaise with Talent Attraction, Crew Assist, Scheduling, Visa, Port Agents, School, Authorized Referral Sources and RCM Manila to coordinate hiring and scheduling.
• Offer backup support to fellow Operations Specialists and advise Operations Representatives on visa, medical and STCW requirements.
• Proactively resolve onboarding issues, escalating irregularities to the Operations Supervisor and seeking efficiency improvements.
• Perform all administrative tasks related to shipboard employee onboarding.
• Prepare and deliver status reports, analyses and talent‑pool updates to stakeholders.
• Organise monthly governance meetings with Recruitment, Scheduling and Mobility Centers.

Required profile

• Strong communication, planning, stakeholder‑management and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in an urgent, critical environment and meet weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering an exemplary onboarding experience.
• Capability to produce regular reports for internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of visa processes, medical clearance procedures and STCW certification requirements for shipboard roles.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards applicable to maritime crew onboarding.
