General Ledger Supervisor – Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to lead our General Ledger team. In this senior supervisory position you will manage a high‑volume AP operation, ensure accurate financial processing, and drive continuous improvement across the function.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the Accounts Payable team, monitor productivity, service levels and KPIs.
• Allocate workload, coach and develop team members, and handle complex AP escalations.
• Oversee invoice validation, posting, payment processing and vendor account management for PO and non‑PO invoices.
• Review and approve AP transactions in line with company policies and support month‑end closing and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process automation and standardisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Treasury and other stakeholders, managing escalations and maintaining vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 5‑8 years of Accounts Payable or General Ledger experience in a Shared Services, BPO or Global Business Services environment.
• Minimum 2 years of people‑management experience (team lead, supervisor).
• Strong hands‑on experience with accounting software and solid understanding of invoice validation, vendor management, payment processing, AP reconciliations, AP aging analysis, month‑end closing and financial controls.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
