Fund Accounting Team Lead – Private Equity

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fund Accounting Team Lead to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for private equity funds. This senior position combines technical oversight with people leadership, ensuring accurate financial reporting while developing a high‑performing accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily fund accounting activities for private equity funds, including NAV preparation, cash and position reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Review and validate accounting entries, trial balances, financial schedules, and supporting documentation to meet deadlines.
• Process capital calls, investor contributions, distributions, and partner allocations throughout the fund lifecycle.
• Support portfolio investment accounting and assist with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation.
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of fund accountants, monitoring performance, workload, and deliverables.
• Conduct quality control reviews, identify process gaps, and implement improvements to accounting workflows and SOPs.
• Collaborate with fund controllers, managers, administrators, and global stakeholders, communicating issues and supporting audit requirements.
