Fund Accounting Consultant

About the role

Join Northern Trust as a Fund Accounting Consultant, providing expert accounting support for client investment portfolios. You will apply statutory, GAAP, and tax guidance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books and records for client investment portfolios using STAT, GAAP, and tax prescribed guidance.
• Serve as a subject‑area expert, delivering in‑depth consulting and leadership to teams and partners.
• Execute large‑scale, cross‑functional, technically complex activities.
• Interact directly with committees and management, escalating critical issues promptly.
• Support strategic direction and operational execution of the business function.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree with a strong accounting and financial principles background.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in audit, valuation composition, or related investment accounting functions.
• CPA preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
