Full‑Time Operations Engineer – Linux & Unix (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Operations Engineer II to manage and support our Linux‑based production environment. The role is fully remote and focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux).
• Apply patches, updates, and upgrades following company standards.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call operational support, diagnose incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Monitor system health using Solarwinds, Prometheus, Grafana and respond to alerts.
• Develop Bash and Python scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Support infrastructure‑as‑code initiatives with Ansible or similar tools.
• Collaborate with storage, middleware, database, and network teams to resolve multi‑layer issues.
• Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, change, and request management.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation for systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS internals, networking fundamentals, file systems, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks.
