Freight and Logistics Coordinator – Remote Freelance

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Freight and Logistics Coordinator to manage end‑to‑end rate requests and quoting for a U.S.-based freight forwarder. This remote freelance position focuses on delivering accurate, timely pricing while balancing cost and service reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Acknowledge and log customer rate requests received via email.
• Contact carriers, partners, and internal teams to obtain pricing information.
• Compare multiple options, evaluate trade‑offs between cost and reliability, and prepare quotes.
• Communicate quotes to customers, documenting assumptions and any accessorials.
• Maintain email and limited phone correspondence with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide regular progress updates to the sales manager and follow up to ensure strong customer relationships.
• Ensure quote accuracy, flag risks or service concerns, and recommend alternatives.
• Use Magaya for shipment records and Microsoft Office Suite for spreadsheets, emails, and documents.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in U.S. freight forwarding or logistics (not entry‑level).
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding terminology and shipping processes.
• Ability to source, compare, and evaluate freight rates across multiple options.
• Professional email and phone communication skills.
