Financial Controller

About the role

Satellite Teams is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead accounting operations across a globally distributed environment. The role ensures financial integrity, compliance, and timely reporting while supporting the company’s rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Design and maintain strong internal controls for remote teams and ensure tax and statutory compliance across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors and advisors.
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed accounting team, establishing clear workflows and performance standards.
• Own and optimize accounting systems, drive automation, and ensure data accuracy across platforms.
• Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, pricing models, and expansion initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controller or senior manager responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS experience is a plus) and experience with multi‑entity, international operations.
• Proven ability to lead remote or distributed teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero.
• Expertise in US GAAP.
• Familiarity with IFRS.
