Financial Controller – Davao City

About the role

The organization is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead its finance department in Davao City. The role involves strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and set departmental objectives, develop budgets aligned with organizational goals, and evaluate financial trends.
• Lead and develop finance staff, fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
• Organize and coordinate finance activities, ensuring clear expectations and efficient resource use.
• Control financial performance by monitoring budgets, comparing actual results to standards, and implementing corrective actions.
• Facilitate annual budget preparation, consolidation, and regular variance analysis.
• Prepare historical financial reports, cost estimates, investment reports, and ensure the credibility of computerized accounting systems.
• Ensure accurate, timely recording of all financial transactions and maintain complete documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess financial implications, and provide data for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy with CPA certification and related postgraduate studies.
• Minimum five years of experience in finance or accounting, including strategic planning and execution.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, cost control, and national/local financial regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively.
