Financial Control Specialist

About the role

The Financial Control Specialist is responsible for executing structured financial and accounting activities that ensure the accuracy of records, compliance with internal and external requirements, and delivery of insights to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply professional accounting standards to record transactions, maintain supporting documentation, and validate intercompany agreements.
• Own the month‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, sub‑ledger reconciliation, and sign‑off of financial submissions.
• Support oversight and analysis of employee benefits and compensation programs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare statutory and management financial statements, guaranteeing accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Design and develop reporting analyses, conduct ad‑hoc analyses for stakeholders, and present marketing allowance and sales incentive reports.
• Validate and sign off on compensation accruals for Deferred Incentive Plans and other incentive programs.
• Provide expert guidance on complex accounting matters to cross‑functional teams during new business model evaluations and project initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of professional accounting standards and internal controls.
• Experience managing month‑end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze compensation trends and support budgeting/forecasting activities.
• Proficiency in preparing statutory and management financial reports.
• Excellent analytical skills for ad‑hoc reporting and stakeholder communication.
