Financial Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Auditor to join our Internal Audit & Fraud Risk Management Group. The role will focus on planning, executing and reporting on financial audits, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with SOX 404 requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute audit plans for financial audit projects.
• Evaluate and report on the adequacy of internal controls.
• Develop audit programs and internal control questionnaires.
• Organize audit working papers and gather evidence to support observations and conclusions.
• Prepare audit reports with observations and recommendations.
• Conduct opening and exit meetings with internal audit clients.
• Discuss findings, recommendations, action plans, commitments, and timetables with internal clients.
• Perform follow‑up reviews to verify resolution of observations.
• Test and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting for Sarbanes‑Oxley Section 404.
• Advise and train process owners on risk assessments and internal controls.
• Coordinate PLDT Group SOX 404 readiness and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Internal Auditing, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant audit experience or experience in financial reporting and control.
• Experience in the telecommunications sector is an advantage.
• CPA preferred but not required; other relevant certifications are also valued.
• Background in an audit firm is preferred but not mandatory.
