Financial Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support the Group Finance Manager across the Buildsafe Group of Companies and Turtle Holding Companies. The role involves month‑end processes, statutory and tax compliance, payroll review, KPI analysis, budgeting and cash‑flow preparation, working Australian business hours from Davao, Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and month‑end workpapers.
• Ensure statutory and taxation compliance, including BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax, company tax, superannuation and WorkCover.
• Review payroll for a large employee base (500+).
• Analyse KPI and financial performance, support budgeting and cash‑flow preparation.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and support year‑end external audit.
• Manage ERP tasks in NetSuite, including bill approvals, AP payment runs and transactional review.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial accounting experience.
• CPA or equivalent qualification, or currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
• Working knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance.
• Experience preparing full month‑end workpapers, management financials and supporting external audits.
• Understanding of end‑to‑end payroll processes, preferably for 500+ employees.
• Strong experience in monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
