Finance Specialist

About the role

The Finance Specialist will process transactions in the accounting system and maintain the general ledger for the assigned office or department. The role focuses on intercompany billing, month‑end and year‑end close, and ensuring grant‑funded projects comply with donor and World Vision requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities, including reconciliations of accruals, general‑ledger accounts and funding.
• Process intercompany billing transactions, prepare invoices, obtain pre‑approvals and record them in the support office accounting system.
• Plan and settle fund transfers, prepare transfer lists and ensure timely payment of hedges.
• Prepare tax reports according to documented instructions and support external audit processes.
• Review grant‑funded project transaction lists for accuracy, completeness and compliance, and follow up on missing documentation.
• Participate in project finance discussions and working groups to address compliance findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2‑3 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in an international NGO or similar environment.
• Experience supporting offshore teams and working with multicultural, geographically dispersed stakeholders.
• Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics financial system.
• Experience with Power BI, PowerPivot and Power Query for data analysis and reporting.
