Finance Operations Controller

About the role

Solviva, a fast‑growing solar startup in the Philippines, is looking for a Finance Operations Controller to own accounting quality, financial controls and finance systems governance. The role is hands‑on, reviewing source schedules, investigating accounting issues and driving resolutions while supervising the internal AR and AP associates and an outsourced accounting provider.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year‑end close calendar, assigning tasks, managing dependencies and tracking completion.
• Review journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments, account schedules, reconciliations and the trial balance for accuracy, completeness and proper cut‑off.
• Prepare reliable financial statements and supporting schedules in line with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Investigate unusual balances, unreconciled items and material period‑on‑period movements, driving timely resolution with internal teams and the outsourced provider.
• Maintain an audit‑ready accounting environment with clear documentation, version control and traceability to source records.
• Manage the outsourced accounting relationship, defining scope, service levels, deliverables and conducting performance reviews.
• Review and accept recurring outputs such as reconciliations, adjusting entries, tax filings, trial balances, financial statements and close reports.
• Ensure outsourced activities complement internal AR and AP work, maintaining a clear RACI, issue tracker and escalation process.
• Lead knowledge transfer and act as the internal process owner for Odoo Finance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting close and financial reporting within a hybrid internal‑outsourced environment.
• Ability to supervise AR and AP associates and manage performance of an external accounting provider.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process discipline and issue resolution.
• Experience maintaining audit‑ready documentation and supporting audit processes.
• Familiarity with financial controls, journal entry review and financial statement preparation.
