Finance Controller – Plant Level (FMCG)

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Controller to lead plant‑level financial strategy for our fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing site. The role acts as a strategic partner between the shop floor and corporate finance, driving cost efficiency, accurate product costing and long‑term profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage standard costing, bill of materials and routing accuracy; monitor production variances and implement corrective actions with plant managers.
• Oversee inventory control, cycle counts and valuation, ensuring FIFO/FEFO rotation to minimise spoilage.
• Lead plant‑level month‑end and year‑end close, including accruals, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Prepare executive dashboards tracking KPIs such as OEE and production line profitability.
• Establish and enforce internal control policies to ensure GAAP compliance and protect assets.
• Direct budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing and operational overheads; evaluate capital expenditures and conduct post‑completion audits.
• Collaborate with Procurement on supplier relationships and cost‑effective sourcing.
• Lead, mentor and develop the plant accounting and cost‑controlling team; serve as the primary financial liaison to Plant Managers, Supply Chain and HR.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; CPA or MBA highly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years as a Plant Controller or similar role within FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing concepts such as yield variance, waste management and shelf‑life costing.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands‑on experience with major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
