Finance and Operations Manager

About the role

Connect Laois, the local development agency for County Laois, is seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to join its senior management team in Portlaoise. The role will oversee financial management and operational functions across state and EU funded programmes, supporting the organisation’s mission to promote social inclusion and rural development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance and operations functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient service delivery.
• Prepare and present annual accounts in line with statutory and funder requirements.
• Manage and maintain computerised accounting systems and related processes.
• Supervise and develop a finance team, fostering collaboration with other departments.
• Ensure compliance with the financial requirements of State and EU funders.
• Contribute to strategic decision‑making as a member of the senior management team.

Required profile

• ACCA or ACA qualified accountant (or equivalent accounting qualification).
• Minimum five years of paid experience in a comparable finance or operations role.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of ICT literacy with a track record of applying technology in the workplace.
• Good understanding of the financial requirements of State funders.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a senior management team.
• Professional references will be required.
