Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician will travel nationwide to install, test, troubleshoot and repair Manitowoc cranes. The role combines mechanical, hydraulic and electrical expertise with customer training and support, ensuring optimal crane performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electronic/electrical testing, installation (or PIPs), troubleshooting and repair of cranes.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and health‑check assessments for customers across the country.
• Deliver operator training and commissioning for new or used cranes sold to clients.
• Prepare detailed field service reports, work time sheets and productivity documentation.
• Recommend parts and maintenance plans based on service findings.
• Attend company‑prescribed training to enhance technical competencies.
• Maintain and responsibly use company assets such as mobile phone, laptop, tools and vehicle.
• Adhere to strict safety policies on both company and customer premises.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a 2‑year technical program in electromechanical technology.
• Basic oral and written English communication skills.
• Computer literate and able to read technical diagrams.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively, including provincial assignments.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
