Field Accounting Manager

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross is seeking a Field Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for its regional delegations. This position ensures accurate financial closing, reporting, and compliance with internal procedures while leading a team of accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a pool of accountants serving multiple regions or delegations.
• Control, validate, and post accounting entries in IRIS, JDE, or PPS.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and regular integrity checks of account balances.
• Lead monthly and annual closing activities and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Maintain comprehensive accounting documentation to satisfy internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify anomalies, propose corrective actions, and ensure compliance with financial procedures and deadlines.
• Coordinate communication between accountants and client regions/delegations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting within a multinational or humanitarian context.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
• Excellent understanding of internal control systems and audit processes.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IRIS accounting software.
• Proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) accounting system.
• Proficiency with PPS accounting platform.
