Family Practitioner – Primary Care on Cortes Island

About the role

The Family Practitioner will join a modern clinic on Cortes Island to deliver comprehensive primary care to a close‑knit community of permanent and seasonal residents. This position offers the chance to build long‑term patient relationships in a culturally safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine and urgent primary care, including examinations, same‑day access, and follow‑up visits.
• Manage chronic diseases, reproductive health, and addictions medicine.
• Perform minor medical procedures and emergency care in the clinic’s treatment space.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, remote pharmacy services, and community health partners.
• Contribute to the clinic’s attachment goals and longitudinal patient care.

Required profile

• Medical degree with licensure to practice in British Columbia.
• Experience in family or general practice, preferably in rural or remote settings.
• Commitment to culturally safe care and community engagement.
• Willingness to work part‑time (2‑4 physicians) or full‑time as needed.
