About the role

The Cortes Community Health Association is seeking a Family Practitioner/General Practitioner to join its modern clinic on Cortes Island. The physician will deliver comprehensive primary care to the island’s 1,000 permanent residents and seasonal visitors, ensuring culturally safe and longitudinal access to health services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary care consultations, examinations, urgent and same‑day medical access.
• Deliver services in addictions medicine, primary reproductive care, and minor medical procedures.
• Manage chronic diseases, conduct ongoing monitoring and follow‑up care.
• Support community health initiatives and contribute to the clinic’s emergency treatment space.
• Help meet year‑over‑year attachment targets for the local population.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Family Medicine physician.
• Commitment to serving a remote, culturally diverse community.
• Willingness to work part‑time (2‑4 physicians) or full‑time as needed.
• Ability to collaborate with nurses, pharmacists and community health staff.

What we offer

• Recruitment incentive up to $20,000 (full‑time).
• Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000.
• Retention premium of 16.07% and annual flat fee of $24,896.
• Rural CME funding ranging from $1,320 to $5,720 per year after four years.
• Modern clinic with two exam rooms, a PCP office, nurses’ room, remote pharmacy and treatment space.
