Facade Designer – Australian Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facade Designer to lead the drafting and design of façade systems for commercial, industrial and high‑end residential projects across Australia. The role involves translating architectural intent into detailed, build‑ready documentation while ensuring compliance with Australian standards and the NCC.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D shop drawings, component details, and general arrangement layouts for curtain walls, window walls and cladding systems.
• Coordinate technical information with structural engineers, project managers, fabricators and on‑site installation teams.
• Validate designs against structural integrity, thermal performance, fabrication constraints and weathertightness requirements.
• Identify and resolve spatial conflicts before production to minimise re‑work.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS 1288, AS 1664, AS 1170) and NCC Section J.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of dedicated façade drafting and design experience within an Australian construction environment.
• Strong understanding of complex façade principles, including structural, thermal and weathertightness considerations.
• Excellent communication skills for seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality documentation under tight project schedules.
