Epidemiologist Consultant

About the role

The Epidemiologist Consultant is a senior subject‑matter expert within the Public Health function, reporting to the Public Health Manager for Infection Control. The role drives data‑driven strategies to protect crew and passenger health across the fleet, translating epidemiologic intelligence into actionable policies and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and continuously improve integrated surveillance systems for communicable diseases, chronic conditions, and behavioral health indicators.
• Monitor disease incidence and prevalence trends, assess implications for shipboard populations, and provide evidence‑based recommendations.
• Analyze health data to detect emerging patterns, conduct risk assessments of global public‑health threats, and guide proactive interventions.
• Support outbreak investigations with epidemiologic analyses and advise leadership on containment and mitigation strategies.
• Conduct research on crew health, focusing on chronic disease management, vaccination strategies, and preventive initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and leadership teams to embed epidemiologic insights into fleet‑wide health policies.

Required profile

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in epidemiology, including surveillance, outbreak investigation, and population‑health analytics.
• Experience working with shipboard or remote‑workforce populations is preferred.
• Proven ability to advise senior leadership and influence public‑health programs through evidence‑based recommendations.
