Engineering Lead (Software Resource Management)

About the role

The Engineering Lead will oversee a pool of skilled software engineers, ensuring the right talent is available for banking projects. Reporting to the Division Head, this role focuses on capacity planning, up‑skilling, and effective onboarding of both regular and contract developers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Relationship Account Management and Capability Solutions to capture developer resource requirements.
• Analyze, maintain, and adjust capacity plans based on project pipelines.
• Work closely with Delivery Management to address resource extensions, skill mismatches, and additional staffing needs.
• Manage personnel functions including recruitment, selection, supervision, and performance appraisals.
• Develop and deliver training programs to keep staff skill sets current.
• Create and refine the software development estimation framework.
• Foster effective liaison with other ITG departments and divisions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing software engineering resources and capacity planning.
• Strong background in recruitment, staff development, and performance management.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple business and IT functions.
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector is advantageous.
