Embedded Java Software Lead Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Java Software Lead Developer to design, code, and enhance custom software solutions across our embedded platforms. The role combines hands‑on development with team leadership, ensuring high‑quality, scalable services that meet specific business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of up to 4 developers and 3 requirements engineers, planning and supervising task execution.
• Monitor progress, resolve challenges, and provide regular milestone reporting.
• Familiarize with and extend the underlying API layer for third‑party integrations.
• Enable autonomous work while maintaining high‑quality standards.
• Develop and maintain multiple Java applications running as services on the client’s embedded platform.
• Maintain well‑documented legacy code, fix bugs, extend test coverage, and implement enhancements.
• Design software architecture ensuring traceability from requirements to implementation and testing.
• Collaborate with on‑site development teams and requirements engineers to streamline processes.
• Apply quality metrics, static code analysis, and structured testing to guarantee long‑term maintainability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of embedded software development experience, including at least 3 years of Java programming.
• Proven experience leading a team of developers and delivering collaborative outcomes.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded Java and working with legacy codebases.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Experience with hardware‑software integration and network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/UDP, IP).
• Familiarity with trace analysis tools such as Wireshark.
• Knowledge of software development metrics (MC/DC coverage, branch coverage, static analysis).
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
