Embedded Java Software Engineer (Automotive Services)

About the role

We are looking for an Embedded Java Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance Java‑based services that run on our client’s automotive software platform. You will work with modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver high‑performing, scalable solutions that meet specific business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of multiple existing Java applications running as services on the client’s platform.
• Maintain legacy code, analyse and fix bugs, extend automated tests and produce clear documentation.
• Collaborate with on‑site lead developers and requirements engineers to capture and trace customer requirements.
• Create and maintain software designs ensuring end‑to‑end traceability from requirements to implementation and test cases.
• Adhere to best practices and quality metrics to support long‑term maintenance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong sense of ownership with the ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent analytical abilities and proficient communication in English.

Required skills

• Embedded Java development (Java SE) for automotive applications.
• JUnit testing framework and unit testing experience.
• Object‑oriented programming and design patterns.
• Version control using Git.
• Debugging and troubleshooting of embedded systems.
• Agile development methodologies.
