Drainage Design Engineer

About the role

WSP is seeking a Drainage Design Engineer to join its Transport Roads and Civil team. You will work on a variety of road, rail and civil infrastructure projects, applying your expertise in surface water and cross‑drainage design while developing your professional skills in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake surface water drainage and cross‑drainage design for roads, rail and civil projects.
• Design and model water‑quality measures for transport infrastructure.
• Collaborate with drafters to produce accurate design drawings.
• Prepare detailed drainage design reports.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers within a collaborative team setting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer.
• Recent Australian experience in drainage design for major transport projects (advantageous).

Required skills

• Proficiency in 12D for drainage design and analysis.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as HEC‑RAS, MUSIC, TuFlow.
• Familiarity with Bentley SUDA.
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, pavement and subsurface drainage, and water‑quality control measures.
