Director of Leisure Services

About the role
The City of Andalusia seeks a seasoned leader to direct its Leisure Services Department, overseeing parks, community centers, cemeteries, a lake and extensive city right‑of‑way. This senior position reports to the Mayor and is responsible for daily operations and strategic growth.
Key responsibilities
- Manage overall operations of 13 parks, 3 community centers, 3 cemeteries, a 20‑acre lake and 600 acres of city right‑of‑way.
- Select, evaluate, train and discipline department personnel.
- Organize and supervise all department programs and special events.
- Plan maintenance, upgrades and expansion of facilities.
- Conduct public relations activities on behalf of the department.
Required profile
- College or university degree in Recreation or a related field.
- Extensive progressive experience in organized recreational activities, including supervisory roles.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license.
