Director of Event

About the role

The Director of Event will lead all catering and group‑sales activities for the hotel, overseeing the full event lifecycle from booking to execution. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this senior position ensures the department meets its financial targets while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all catering and group‑sales operations, from client acquisition to event delivery.
• Prepare and control departmental budgets, forecasts and cost‑management measures.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships before, during and after events to drive repeat business.
• Conduct site inspections, sales activities and collaborate on monthly forecasts with the Sales & Marketing team.
• Develop the annual business and marketing plan for the events department.
• Achieve banquet and catering revenue targets set in the hotel’s yearly business plan.
• Appraise and coach the Event Manager and Event Executive, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
• Promote the hotel’s brand through staff training and continuous learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a comparable role, preferably within a 5‑star hotel environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Positive, results‑driven attitude with a professional disposition.
