Director of Collections

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven Director of Collections to lead and transform our global collections operations. This senior individual contributor will oversee residential, commercial, and national portfolios across multiple regions, driving cash recovery while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for collections across all portfolios and geographic regions.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve cash flow, reduce delinquency, and optimize debt recovery.
• Own and monitor key performance metrics such as DSO, open AR reduction, cash collections, resolution rate, and collection cost ratio.
• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to define tactical and long‑term collection strategies.
• Identify automation, digital transformation, and process‑optimization opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and client‑specific requirements.
• Establish governance frameworks, dashboards, and performance reviews.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing collections leadership teams.
• Drive workforce planning, capacity optimization, and productivity initiatives.
• Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce or related field; MBA preferred.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in hardcore collections, outbound collections, and debt recovery.
• Proven track record of leading large, multi‑regional collections operations.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
