DevOps Engineer – Platform & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer at ING, you will design, build, own, and maintain the systems that enable rapid, reliable delivery of new product features. You will work within the WB Transaction Services team, collaborating with innovative colleagues to continuously improve scalability, security, and fault tolerance of the bank’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously improve infrastructure for scalability, security, and fault tolerance.
• Integrate DevOps methodology into the development, deployment, and operations lifecycle.
• Create clean, well‑structured deployment, monitoring, and application‑management scripts.
• Enable rapid deployment of new features while ensuring high availability and performance.
• Optimize existing infrastructure and phase out legacy systems.
• Monitor and proactively troubleshoot cloud and on‑premise resources.
• Ensure system security compliance with ING IT‑Risk standards and policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps and Ansible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• PowerShell, Bash, Python scripting.
• RHEL and Windows operating systems.
• WebSphere, MQ, risk and vulnerability lifecycle management.
• Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Ansible automation.
• Basic knowledge of Oracle RDBMS.
